We want to welcome Björn Bengtsson as a new employee at Certaincy. He has joined our IT management team. To get to know Björn we have asked him some questions.

IT management consultant Certaincy

Name: Björn Bengtsson

Who is Björn?

I am originally from Uddevalla, a town north of Gothenburg. After finishing high school I moved to Norway, where I worked in the Telecom industry within Service, logistics and purchasing. After a short de-tour in Gothenburg, I moved to Karlstad where I studied economics and IT. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. During my time at the University I worked both as an Operations engineer in IT and Telecom, and Transactions officer in the financial industry. After my graduation I moved to Gothenburg.

How would you describe yourself as a person?

I would describe myself as a social and driven team player who wants to learn and develop myself as an IT consultant. I am also analytical and a good listener.

What is your Passion?

My passion is to develop myself as a consultant and I am eager to gain experience within the IT area.

What is Fun at work for you?

I find it inspiring and fun to work in a team consisting of different people with different backgrounds. To strive towards a goal, together, and where the members of the team can learn from each other.

What are you listening to now?

Just now I listen to U2, Coldplay and Gothenburg’s pride: Håkan Hellström.

Your favorite place to be?

On the top of the slopes, preferably in the French alps.

What are you doing right now?

Just now, I am studying ITIL Foundation and learning best practice regarding IT Service Management. An interesting framework that I can use in my next assignment.

Why did you choose to start at Certaincy AB?

I chose Certaincy for several reasons. First time I met Certaincy I was warmly welcomed and the company understood my profile as a newly graduated student. Certaincy’s customers, and the assignments they offer can make you develop and grow as a person. You have the possibility to learn from other skilled consultants and personnel.

If you are like Björn and want to work with us, you can either contact us directly or look at our current job openings.

For students at Chalmers participating at CHARM 2018, we have interviewed two of our consultants that can give you some advice when you are looking for your future employer. Our second interview is with Erik Nilsson.

Name: Erik Nilsson

What did you study?
Chemical engineering & Physics, Chalmers

What advice would you give to someone who is now looking for their first job after finishing their education?
Do not focus all your energy on finding a job with a perfect match to your education. There are so many options out there that are just as fun but was never mentioned in school. Do not be afraid to explore them.
With a good employer it is often possible to adapt your assignment at work to your specific skills and interests.
Many companies rely on reports and other documentation in Excel, learn to master it and enjoy an easier life when you finally get your first assignment.

How come you chose to start working at Certaincy?
I got in contact with Certaincy by coincident. I wanted to work at Volvo Cars as a consultant and applied for an opening at another company that forwarded me to Certaincy. I decided to join their team as they seemed to be a good company. They yet have to prove me wrong.

I got the assignment at Volvo Cars. After some time I wanted to change assignment and see something different. Today I work as a component engineer at CEVT at the electrical engineering department.

What would you say is the best about Certaincy?
Certaincy have a very friendly atmosphere and it is always fun to meet the colleagues on company activities.
I like that there are an equal amount of male and females at Certaincy, something that I have not experienced on my assignments.

This year Certaincy will not have a stand at CHARM 2018, but we will be around during both days. If you wish to meet us at Chalmers, please contact:

Certaincy organised an activity called Julgransplundring this Thursday, for all the employees and their families. Julgransplundring is seen as an end to the one-month period of Christmas celebrations.

Julgransplundring at Certaincy

For those of you who are not familiar with this tradition. We ate all leftovers at the office. We had for instance a lot of candy, ginger cookies, glögg, Swedish Julmust etc. For the kids, we made them demolish our gingerbread house. A few of us danced around our “little” office Christmas tree and around the office. Of course, we made everyone participate in some games as well.

This activity was a nice event where we leave 2017, cleaned out the office. Now we are ready for 2018, loaded with lots of inspiration and opportunities.
